Jovita Idár was a journalist and civil rights activist who fought against injustices endured by women and Mexican Americans in the 20th century. This film explores Idár’s journalistic career as part of her family’s Spanish-language periodicals, La Crónica and El Progreso, and her advocacy of women’s rights, including her involvement in La Liga Femenil Mexicanista (the League of Mexican Women).
