This film chronicles the career of Lulu B. White, a teacher and civil rights activist, who was known as the matriarch of the Texas civil rights movement. White was at the forefront of significant NAACP battles that challenged Texas’s All-white primary through the Supreme Court case, Smith v. Alright and the fight to end racial segregation at the UT Law school through the case of Sweatt v. Painter.
