- Hi, I'm Megan Mullins Owen and we are here at the Little River Canyon Center.
We are all here, so excited to kick off Bluegrass on the Rim.
So don't go anywhere.
(bluegrass music playing) (cheering) - Fortunately for us, we've crossed paths with many wonderful musicians.
And they're willing to come up now and perform and it's awesome.
- I think one of the high points was tonight when I looked around and realized, boy, this girl can play the fiddle.
I've never played with her before and bam, there she was.
- Hope y'all enjoy this tune.
You should know it.
- One, two, three.

Y'all doing okay out there?
Are you sure you're all right?
Okay.
Now let me tell you something.
1972, Judge will remember this.
1972 I was working at Stanley's Men store on Broad Street.
And right down there was a record box.
And I spent half my money in that record box that I made.
And I walked in there one day and Lou said.
Lou never smoked a cigarette and she said, "Glen, you wanna try this album out?"
And I said, okay.
So I took it home and I sold about 10 of 'em for her.
This song right here was one of the main cuts on it.
If you were born anywhere back in the late '50s or '60s you will know this song.
Rick, turn it loose down there on The Little Marshall Tucker Band.

(cheering) All right, Kevin, can we get you to come back up here and do a very special song?
This one is special to Kevin.
- Very special to me.
It's a Billy Joe Shaver song, but I first learned the song from "The Country Boy Eddie Show."
How many remember "The Country Boy Eddie Show?"
Yeah, about four o'clock every morning.
Well, there was a fella on there named Big Sam Frazier.
And Big Sam sang this song every single morning.
I think it was the only song he knew.
And I got really tired of the song.
And then Big Sam recorded a version of the song and he pantomimed it every single morning.
And I got just sick of the song, never wanted to hear it again.
And then the show went off and I didn't hear it for 10 or 15 years.
And then I came across it and I heard Billy Joe Shaver's original version of it and I thought, that's a pretty good song.
Now every time I play somewhere, I sing that song.
So, its kind of become mine now.
- That's right, it's still a pretty good song.
- But it has a good message to it and I hope you enjoy it.
